Vision:
To contribute for comprehensive development of agriculture in Marathwada region through agricultural education, research and extension.

Mission:
To develop competent human resource in agriculture and allied sciences and coordinate teaching, research and extension in the region.

Educational Programmes offered (PG / UG / Ph. D/Diploma):

Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral degree programmes in agriculture, agril. engineering, food technology, horticulture, & community science. Agriculture diploma course of 2 & 3 years duration.

Major Area of Research

Dry land agriculture particularly soybean, pulses, sorghum and cotton production & water conservation.

Highlights of Extension Education Activities – (Including Number of KVKs, Training Programmes/ Certificate Courses, etc.):

12 KVKs (including 8 KVKs by NGO’s). The number of programmesare organized for dissemination of technologies generated by the university.

Strength of the University (Including 5 important achievements)

1. Strong in varietal development in cotton, soybean and red gram.
2. The University has released 142 varieties of different crops, 45 farm implements and 882 recommendations for crop production, crop protection, NRM, animal husbandry, food processing, agril. engineering, soil conservation etc..
3. More than 50 per cent area of red gram in Maharashtra state is under the varieties developed by Badnapur Research Station.
4. Released more than 15 commercializable technologies in food technology.
5. Initiated a special extension programme umed to prevent farmers from suicides & special campaign to solve the problems of farmers on the spot ‘Vidyapeeth Apalya Dari, Tantradnyan Shetawari in Marathwada
