University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga (Dist.), Shivamogga, Karnataka State was established and functioning w.e.f. 01-04-2013. There are 04 constituent colleges running B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture at Shivamogga, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture at Mudigere, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture at Hiriyur and B.Sc.(Hons.) Forestry at Ponnampet and 13 disciplines in PG studies (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) along with 02 Diploma Colleges at Brahmavar and Kathalagere. Apart from that, there are 04 Zonal Agricultural and Horticultural Research Stations, 09 Research Stations, 04 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, 05 Extension Education Units and 01 Organic Farming and Research Centre that are functioning under the University.
During every academic year, more than 700 students are getting admitted in the constituent colleges which are running under this University. The University is functioning under State and ICAR, New Delhi grants.
