The Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology was established in 1962. It has at present eight constituent colleges; six located at the main campus, viz. College of Agriculture, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Home Science, Engineering and Technology, and Basic sciences and Humanities; whereas the College of Fisheries at Rangeilunda (Ganjam district) and College of Agriculture at Chiplima (Sambalpur).

ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

The university offers Bachelor’s Degree courses in all the faculties and colleges. Post-graduate courses are offered in 11 disciplines Agriculture, 14 in Veterinary science, two in Agricultural engineering, one each of Fishery science (Aquaculture) and General engineering (Master in Computer Application), and Two disciplines at the Centre for Post-Graduate Study (Master in Computer Application and Microbiology under self-financing), Ph. D. degree is offered in 10 disciplines in Agriculture, three disciplines in Veterinary Science, and one in Fishery science.

At present there are 10 regional Research and Technology Transfer Stations/ Sub-stations. There are 46 Co-ordinated Research Projects operating under the university on various crops or schemes.

In addition, 41 Technology Projects were sanctioned by the ICAR during the last 3 years. It also has 10 KVKs.
